In graduate school, there is a lot of support and dialogue to feed the commitment to building the important skills we need as Art Therapists. After graduation, that suddenly falls away. The new focus becomes finding a job where you can continue to work as an Art Therapist. Often, the positions Art Therapists fill are not specifically positions for Art Therapists, but for Marriage and Family Therapists, so that same support for the art is not there.
That results in two problems:
1. There is a shortage of resources focused on continuing to refine your skills and maintain your commitment to the art
2. You are not getting the supervision you need to work toward your ATR (Registered Art Therapist credentials).
We need to continue to grow our field with talented and competent Art Therapists.
My standard hourly rate for Art Therapy Supervision is $70/hour.
If you have questions about the way I work as an Art Therapy Supervisor, do not hestitate to contact me by email or telephone.
